Yoga Training for Health and Healing – #WATWB

On this last Friday in August, once again, it’s time to offer up a healthy dose of encouraging news, because it’s such great mental medicine. Thank you, #WATWB (We Are The World Blogfest) for creating this positive initiative. Searching for an inspiring monthly offering uplifts me and never fails to reveal good news. Good news that helps counteract the bad news in the feeds.

This month, again, stories about yoga abound, and resonate with former Hatha yoga teacher me. Now it’s coming out that the practice of yoga can help people with irregular heartbeats (Atrial Fibrillation.) That’s a big topic for me, because a beloved family member had AF and eventually had to get a pacemaker. Thankfully, alternatives such as yoga training can help. Here’s the full article:

Another inspiring story is about how an exceptional yoga instruction and practice is giving first responders relief from stress, anxiety, alcoholism and depression. You can read about it here:

Lovely post Lizbeth thank you … yoga has so many advantages to it, from being aware of our simple breath and improving it when it’s done correctly, to the exercises, to the relaxation thereafter … thank you for co-hosting and have a lovely weekend.

Thanks, Susan, for reading and commenting. I’m glad you enjoyed the yoga stories — downward dog, I’ll have to practice it! You’re welcome, and wishing you a lovely weekend as well. Namaste!

So good to know that Yoga is helping people get mentally and physically fit.

Thanks for reading and and your positive comments, Shilpa. I loved teaching Hatha yoga back in the day, the entire class in a mat room beneath the theater at a local community college, the students especially liking the lying down part after the asanas, some of them falling asleep during the meditation 🙂

Thanks for reading and commenting:) I just checked out your site and especially loved this: “I have too many flaws to be perfect; but I have too many blessings to be ungrateful.” Thanks for your bright spirit, and your inspiration.

You’re welcome, Damyanti. I agree, it’s great that people are finding Yoga a wonderful resource. And thanks for writing about and supporting the victims of acid attacks–a story that needs to be told, and your pictures tell it compellingly.
